Malaysia Mei' s Banh Mi:

During my recent trip to Vietnam in February, I was on a “quest" looking for a best “Banh Mi" – which inspired me to set-up my very first “Banh Mi" street food stall in the farmer markets in Sonoma county. So, what is all the fuss about this unique sandwich that captured the all foodies from coast to coast in America?? This sandwich truly lies the marriage of two cuisines of French and Vietnamese . “Banh MI" is a Vietnamese baguette made with wheat and rice flour, resulting a light and cracky crust and light center and stuff with pickled carrot, daikon, cucumber, cilantro, chili peppers, “Pate" – which I specially made this “Pate" with mushroom and cashew" in place of the traditional “pate" which often made from pork or chicken livers. I further enhance the sandwich with home-made chili-lime Mayonnaise and filled with choice of Pulled-pork, lemongrass chicken and Five spice grilled Tofu. Each sandwich gets a dousing with Malaysia Mei's Peanut sauce or the red curry sauce.

  • Starting Sept 7, available at Shelton Natural Food in Center St, Healdsburg
